2016 Feed the Disadvantaged Kids at AnGiang Orphanage

Last Updated Saturday, November 26, 2016

We first visited AnGiang Orphanage in 2007 as the Rotary Club of Winnetka-Northfield was preparing to visit for the library dedication at Khai Tri Orphanage. Every time we come to the Mekong Delta, we check in and bring some clothing, toys and medicine. During our December 2009 visit, they specifically asked for Milk after losing all their U.S. sponsor when international adoptions were terminated. In 2012, only $280 provides enough milk for all the entire orphanage for a month. On our Oct/Nov 2014 visit, the staff asked for help in 2015 with $300 per month as the government funding is sufficient for providing quality food for healthy babies.

2016 we continued our $1,800 USD annual donation with help from RS4K's donors and friends in the USA

On November 26, 2016, Tom and Dirk stopped by the AnGiang Orphanage with disadvantaged kids. All the baby beds were full and most of these babies and kids have down syndrome--significantly more than 9 years ago on our initial visit. On this 2016 visit, Tom only saw three kids are not disabled (you can see 2 of the 3 non-disabled kids in the photo set--they are the 2 boys getting bread from a lady donor on a motorbike).

As always, the care givers at this orphanage are amazing.

2015 we plan to donate $1,800 with help from RS4K's donors and friends in the USA

On our Nov 2014 visit, the staff asked for help in 2015 with $300 per month as the government funding is sufficient for providing quality food for healthy babies. At our annual board meeting in January, 2015 we will consider directly helping 6 of the 12 months in 2015 (donations from the USA). We will also reach out to local charities in An Giang Vietnam to encourage them to help too.

2013 we donated $3,000 with help from donors and friends of RS4K

The An Giang Orphanage asked that we help them in 2013 but did not need help in 2014.

2012 we donated $3,000 with help from donors and friends of RS4K

The An Giang Orphanage was able to get through 2011 with our help, but they asked that we help them in 2012. Please use the donation PayPal links to join us with helping.

Rotary Club of Winnetka-Northfield helped in 2010 on this project.

All the babies at this orphanage have disabilities and need extrac help. You can see the babies at An Giang Orphanage by clicking below and watch a short slide presentation we shared in Feb 2010 at the Winnetka-Northfield Rotary Club.

Join us on October 8, 2010 for the Winnetka-Northfield Rotary Club Vietnamese Benefit Dinner

$65 per person with $55 proceeds to AnGiang Orphanage, Vietnam. For every five dinner tickets, we will be able to provide milk and formula for all the kids at AnGiang Orphanage for an entire month. Our evening goal is to raise enough donations for all of 2010. Click here to view our tentative menu and more information.
